Exactly what I needed as a new practitioner of traditional witchcraft. It explains the elements of spells rather than simply listing premade spells. This allows you to write simple or complex spells for any purpose you wish. I loved the citation of Frazer!This book does not shy away from black magic and malevolence, but it doesn't focus on it either.
I found the chapter on the foundations of witchcraft oddly aggressive and angry, and the focus on science and Tesla baffling. Still, one iffy chapter still leaves this as the most useful book in my new collection.
A high number of grammatical errors is to be noted, and a subsequent edition could use a tighter proofread.

There are also various meditations included in this book and a template for writing a spell for any purpose. There is also a listing of further reading for those who want to look at more Winter Tempest books.

Sophia DiGregorio is a phenomenal writer. Even though I can write my own spells she helps me get them together in 5 minutes instead of one hour like I did on my own. Buy all her books on magick!!!
I don't agree with everything in here but helpful as a teaching tool. I urge anyone who uses this to check out other correspondences for days, hours & colors, but it very well explains how to set up a successful spell.
It's about time someone put the ingredients together and show people how to write their own spells. While some of us may already know how to write our own spells, there are always things to learn. We're not infallible, but every little bit helps. I was already writing my own spells, but, occasionally they didn't work the first time. Most of the time that was due to my focus being scattered. I havae learned from this book and am thankful the author wrote this book. Thanks.
